DOWNLOAD OUR NEW PARISH APP

Due to circumstances out of our control our Parish App is changing!  Please download the new app from your app store.  Look for My Parish App.  Allow for location (to find the church) and notifications.  We are encouraging all parishioners young and old to download the app.  We send out notifications regularly for events in the parish as well as to individual ministries.  This is a great tool for our parish.  The App includes a lot of good Catholic Resources, such as readings, prayers, gospel readings, daily meditations, and so much more. It also includes copies of our bulletins, the parish calendar, mass times, just to name a few.

Text APP to 88202 or go to www.myparishapp.com to download.

We meet in Our Lady of Knock Hall (OLK-A) on Tuesday evenings from 7-9 p.m.  On Tuesday, September 10th, we will have a SPECIAL PROGRAM ON THE HOLY EUCHARIST! The introduction is called “Eucharist as a Pathway to Spiritual Transformation”, a 20 minute presentation by Dr. Mary Amore.  She has a few reflective questions for us to discuss afterwards.  We follow with a coffee break and continue with I AM THE LIVING BREAD.  This program is an up close and personal look at how the lives of people in San Antonio have been dramatically touched by their devotion to Jesus in the BLESSED SACRAMENT through EUCHARISTIC ADORATION.  This film is a profoundly moving testimony to the love, power, and mercy of the REAL PRESENCE of JESUS CHRIST, and a personal witness to what Eucharistic Adoration can do in your life.  COME AND SEE, ALL ARE WELCOME!

The new BIBLE STUDY begins on September 17th:  “Unlocking the Mystery of the Bible”.  This study is really excellent!  PLEASE, DO NOT MISS IT!  You will not be sorry!  The cost is $15.00, and there are only 8 sessions.  See you there!

Peer Grief Support Group

Are you widowed or divorced? Having a difficult time? You need not go through it alone.  There are no counselors, or ministers, just people  like you that have experienced the same pain. The group is sponsored by the Diocese of Corpus Christi—Family Life. It is faith based and all faiths are welcome.  We meet for ten weeks on Mondays starting September 9th at Saint Patrick’s in the Parish Hall.  For more information call John Moses at 361-813-5825. On the first night, registration will start at 6:30 p.m. and the session will start at 7:00 p.m.  All the other sessions will be from 7-9 p.m.  The first meeting will be in the Parish Hall Upper Room.  All other meetings will be in the Parish Hall (downstairs).

They Prayer Blanket Ministry will meet on September 21st from 11 a.m.—1 p.m. in Our Lady of Knock Hall.  They are looking for new volunteers to help keep this ministry going.  Sewing skills are NOT a requirement.  There are many other ways you can help.  This ministry brings comfort to those who are struggling or suffering, sick, in the hospital or bedridden.  These beautiful lap blankets (3x4 approximately) are prayed over as they are made and come with a prayer booklet with prayers for the recipient.  Knowing that people have prayed for them and that the blankets have been blessed by our priests, goes a long way in their healing process.   We often run out of the blankets at the rectory, because so many people ask for them.  The success of this ministry is due completely to the volunteers who dedicate their time, talent and prayer to this rewarding ministry.  If you have a couple of hours once a month to help out, show up this Saturday or call Liz at 443-6086.  Donations of fabric, thread and other sewing items are always welcome.

 Cantor’s needed!

We are looking for people to share their gift of voice during the Mass to lead the congregation in song.  There are cantors at the 5:30 p.m. Saturday Mass, 8 a.m., 10:30 a.m. & 12:15 p.m. Sunday Masses.  If you are interested in being a cantor for St. Patrick’s Church, please call the Rectory at 855-7391 or see Judith in the choir loft after Mass.

Adult Choir Rehearsals

Choir Rehearsals will begin on Sunday, September 15th at 9:15 a.m. in the choir loft.  The choir always needs new voices.  We sing at the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Sundays.  If you are interested in sharing your gift of voice, please call the Rectory at 855-7391 or see Judith in the choir loft after Mass.

Why not join the morning Men’s Bible Study Group?  We meet on Thursday mornings from 6:30-7:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Knock Hall. We are currently studying 2 Samuel.  Bring your Bible to study, discuss and learn. Coffee and rolls are served.  All men are encouraged to come.
