Under the age of 7

The Sacrament of Baptism welcomes your child into the family of God and begins their journey of faith within the Catholic Church. Parents who wish to have their infant baptized are invited to contact the parish office for more information about baptismal preparation, requirements, and scheduling.

Please call the parish office to begin the registration process and receive guidance from our parish staff.

Ages 7-17

Children and youth ages 7–17 who have not yet been baptized are invited to begin their journey of faith through the appropriate preparation process. Our parish provides formation and guidance to help young people prepare to receive the Sacrament of Baptism and grow in their relationship with Christ.

Over the Age of 18

Adults who have not baptized are invited to continue their journey of faith through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).

Godparent Requirements

  • At least one godparent is required for Baptism. If two godparents are chosen, they must be one man and one woman.
  • A godparent must be at least 16 years old and have received the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist. They must regularly attend Sunday Mass, receive Holy Communion, and strive to live according to the teachings of the Catholic Church.
  • A single godparent must be living according to Church teachings and not cohabitating outside of marriage. A married godparent must be married in the Catholic Church.
  • Godparents are required to attend a Baptism preparation class with the parents or complete the class at their own parish.
  • A non-Catholic Christian may not serve as an official godparent but may participate as a Christian Witness if they are actively living their Christian faith.
