The Works of Mercy Collection is taken up monthly.  This collection primarily goes to help Catholic Charities and various disaster relief efforts.

St. Vincent de Paul gave us a profound example in his life of the need to minister to the poor. Imitating his example, members of this ministry help to serve the basic needs of people living in our area. When we feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, and clothe the naked, Jesus said we minister directly to Him in the guise of the poor and suffering. Volunteers work in the food pantry on Wednesday afternoons receiving and stocking food and Thursday mornings distributing food.

The Food Pantry

The Food Pantry has been providing food for families for more than 20 years.  St. Patrick has a budget for the purchase for nonperishables, meat, fresh produce, and bread/pastries from the Coastal Bend Food Bank.  Volunteers pick up the order on Wednesdays and unload at our pantry.  We distribute to 40 families on Thursdays from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.  Although we say 40 families, the actual total number of individuals can range from 1 to 161 people weekly as a family can be anywhere from 1-6 people.  We are open from September through June thanks to our dedicated volunteers.

Prayer to St. Vincent De Paul

(July 19th)

O Glorious Saint Vincent de Paul, the mention of your name
suggests a litany of your virtues: humility, zeal, mercy, self-sacrifice. It also recalls your many foundations: works of mercy, congregations, societies. The Church gratefully remembers
your promotion to the priesthood. Inspire all charitable workers,
especially those who minister to both the spiritually and the materially poor. O Lord, give us this grace that You bestowed upon your servant St. Vincent de Paul, to relinquish the temptation of material things in our holy effort to minister to the poor. Amen.
