1st Holy Communion - 2nd to 8th Grade
Children preparing to receive their First Holy Communion must first be baptized in the Catholic Church. Children who were baptized in another Christian denomination and wish to become Catholic will make a Profession of Faith before receiving their First Holy Communion.
Most children celebrate their First Holy Communion during the spring of their second-grade year after completing two years of faith formation through either St. Patrick School or our Parish Religious Education Program. Preparation is also available for older children.
Children of catechetical age who have not yet been baptized will participate in the Order of Christian Initiation for Children. Through this process, they prepare to receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation, and Holy Eucharist, typically during the Easter Vigil Mass after completing the required formation.
Parents play an essential role in their child's faith journey. During the second year of sacramental preparation, parents are required to attend monthly formation sessions to support their child's preparation for First Holy Communion.

1st Holy Communion - High Shool (9th to 12th Grade)
High school students who have not yet received their First Holy Communion are warmly invited to begin their sacramental preparation. Please contact our Director of Religious Education, DeNeise Thomson, to learn more about the preparation process and how we can help you continue your faith journey.
1st Holy Communion - Adults
Adults who have not yet received their First Holy Communion are invited to continue their journey of faith through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA).
